This was the last week of clay. It is very sad to be over but I am excited to finish the projects that are in the process of completion. I have to finish glazing my bowl to Robin. I also have to finish glazing my hand and wheel. I made a small vase that has a small lid with flower on the top. I also have to finish glazing my porcelain cup which has dark blue drips on it as well as blue and green glass in the middle. I plan on also putting clear glass in Robin's bowl and some blue glass in my small lidded project.

I finished my teapot and finally finished glazing it as well. I wrote tea party on in and designed it with stripes. I also started and finished my hand and wheel project which is a cup with a twisted handlle and twisted pieces of clay coming out of the cup. I also threw with porcelain for the first time this week! It was alot harder than I imagined it would be to center and make the cup. The handle was alot harder too but I thought it turned out quite nicely. I am excited to see everything put together and wrap up this semester.

I have made a cup for my dad for his morning coffee. He is a die hard husky fan so of course I plan on decorating it with either purple or black glaze. I plan to paint on the husky symbol and logo (UW). I cant wait to suprise him for christmas with this amazing cup! I know he is going to love it! It is just a small thank you for

This is the start of my new hand and wheel project which is a small cup that has everything Christmas about it. I have added christmas trees to the inside of the cup to give the inside a different texture. On the outside I have added a "merry x-mas" in little bubbles and cursive to give the outside a different texture as well. Next I plan on making a snowflake or tree top lid to finish the entire thing off! I cant wait to see how it all turns out!

I have now started my second theme project this quarter. It is a pot that I will attach two handles on horizontally or sideways. I plan on carving in snowflakes all over the pot to connect with my winter theme. I plan on using different blue glazes to cover the cracks of the snowflakes. I then will clear glaze over everything so the whole project is smooth and not rough on the outside/inside!

Even though I had started my teapot earlier this week it is now gone. My teapot base fell off the wheel while footing and cracked, therefore I must start over again. I am sad to see it go after spending alot of time with details and the other elements of the teapot such as the lid, spout, and handle. Today is a fresh start however and I plan on making an even bigger and better teapot!

I have started to make my teapot this week. I have completed the base of the project and the spout but I am in the process of making the lid and handle. I then plan on doing something like this picture but with carving. I plan to carve little snowflakes and christmas trees all over the teapot. I am really exci

This week I decided my next two theme choices. I have resolved on the fact that my theme is Winter. I made a hot chocolate mug that I plan to decorate with snowflakes and christmas trees. I also made a plate that I will decorate with candy canes and cookies. I am extremely excited for the holiday season and how that will reflect on my art work.

Decided to get a head start and get going on my lidded wheel project for next quarter. I made a medium size vase that I will use as my cookie jar and make some stripped decorations to add balance and rhythm.

This is my choice project I made this week (10/15-10/19). I decided to make another wheel altered project but instead of a bowl I made a vase. I decided to only do 4 indents to make the top look more like a four leaf clover compared to more of a flower shape.
